While the external part is in leather and nylon mesh. The colors are the same as the original model: white with violet and pink accents that as the design are typical from the iconic 90’s.

ADIDAS CONSORTIUM SNEAKER EXCHANGE – SNEAKERSNSTUFF X SOCIAL STATUS
LAUNCHING 18TH FEBRUARY

The second instalment of the 2017 Sneaker Exchange is a transcontinental collaboration between two major Consortium partners.

Sweden’s Sneakersnstuff began life in Stockholm and has gradually opened stores across northern Europe. Similarly, Social Status started with a single store in North Carolina before expanding around the eastern United States.

Geographical expansion may have served as an ice-breaker, but adidas Consortium challenged the two parties to find further common ground to work together on a sneaker pack. After sharing and developing ideas, they present two models which reflect the changing role of sneakers in both a practical and a wider social sense.

Initially intended as performance footwear for athletes, sneakers have grown in cultural significance; becoming style and design icons in their own right. Conversation developed between the two retailers on how classic sporting equipment can become iconographic. How it can, over time, gradually be elevated and reimagined, get remade in expensive materials, in silver or gold, and encrusted with jewels or diamonds. That opulence serves as the inspiration behind the colourways here. The result is athletic footwear reimagined in monochrome luxury.

The UltraBOOST is the first to get the makeover. adidas’ marquee runner-turned-casualwear sensation is executed in breathable grey/white melange Primeknit upper with leather overlays. It features a taped toe-tip and – as the luxurious highlight – a soft matte suede cage.

Sneakersnstuff and Social Status apply the same BOOST and Primeknit attributes to the Superstar, giving the old-school basketball silhouette advantages of today’s technology. The result is a lighter, more flexible take on a late sixties hardwood classic.

HANON X REEBOK CLUB C “CLAYMORE”
LAUNCHING 3RD FEBRUARY

Hannon and Reebok join forces in Spring ‘17 and are proud to present a brand new collaboration on a re-imagined edition of the Reebok Club C, a model which began as a performance tennis sneaker in the mid-80s.
For this coming together they travel back some years into Scotland’s history and take inspiration from the legendary Claymore sword.

The ‘Great Sword’ as it translates from Scots’ Gaelic, originated during the medieval period and is distinctive in style by the decorative circular shape that adorns each side of the handle. Recognised as a symbol of strength and prowess, it was set apart from its contemporaries due to an unwieldy length and broad blade, and was the weapon of choice during Scotland’s clan wars and battles for border control against the English.

The ‘CLaymore’ edition of the Club C is forged in rich pig suede and split with a ‘chain mail’ ballistic mesh. To depict the Great Sword, the upper is executed in sharp silver grey with a blue steel rubber outsole and offset with a lush brown satin lining.

Dual branding is applied to the upper by way of a shield and sword logo lockup, whilst an ornate Celtic knot pattern is featured across the collar lining, tongue backer and silk screened onto a laminate leather footbed.

Additional detail appears across the shoe by way of an embossed tongue patch with bar tack stitching, gold top eyelet, criss-cross micro perforations over the vamp and gold swords embossed on each heel tab.

Reebok Pump Supreme Tracksuit-Inspired “Jacquard Tape”
Launching Thursday 2nd February

Reebok has landed firmly back on the map—a move spearheaded by its innovative (and just plain cool) Pump Supreme silhouette. While the style originally debuted in partnership with equally well-hyped label Vetements, the Pump Supreme is quickly coming into its own as the rightful heir to Reebok’s game-changing Pump technology. The latest version of the new sneaker—known as the “Jacquard Tape” edition—is both forward-facing but inspired by the past, leaving no doubt that fans will be clamoring for this shoe the moment it hits shelves.

Similar to other editions of the Pump Supreme, the Jacquard Tape bears the streamlined slip-on silhouette the sneaker is known for. This also includes the reengineered fit sleeve, a feature that brings the foot closer to the knit upper and maximizes the feel and function of the shoe’s namesake Pump technology. The unique twist to this rendition has to be the literal jacquard tape branding that runs along the center of upper as well as the back pull tab—a direct callback to 90’s tracksuits. This throwback nod is also embodied in the upper’s retro all-over mesh, which is different from the main model’s engineered mesh upper.

While Reebok is known for its prestigious archive literal classics, this take on the Pump Supreme puts past into present in a subliminal, yet startlingly clever way.
