adidas Consortium x Saint Alfred Temper Run
27 . 10 . 18
Founded by KICKS/HI in 2005, Saint Alfred has been the beating heart of Chicago’s evolving street-style scene for over a decade, its Wicker Park home becoming the go-to destination for sneakers and streetwear in the Windy City. In 2016, Saint Alfred collaborated on a refined iteration of the adidas Gazelle. Its clean, monochrome appearance belied a host of functional considerations, from water-resistant suede uppers to a GORE-TEX lining and reinforced gusset on the tongue.
Two years later, Saint Alfred bring this same attention to detail – and affection for aesthetically-pleasing functionality – to a very different adidas model. The Temper Run first appeared in 2014. Four years on, the shoe comes to the Consortium range for the first time. The layered construction and use of Adiprene cushioning nod to the running inspiration behind the original model.
Saint Alfred take this further by channeling numerous reference points from the fall season color palette, to the active-wear reflective panels, gum outsole, ballistic mesh and suede overlay uppers. As much as the Saint Alfred Temper Run feels particularly suited to today’s sneaker trends, the considered approach to materials, colours and functionality simultaneously affirm the Temper Run’s timeless qualities.
Saint Alfred used the Chicago wilderness to pull color pantones and used the adidas archive 1990’s era outdoors-wear for material inspiration. To reflect this in campaign visuals, Saint Alfred worked with artist Stephen Eichhorn, who creates intricately detailed collages of new micro-ecosystems.  Using collected historical botany textbooks and publications, Eichhorn painstakingly cuts out and layers plant parts and minerals to wood panel, brass, and other materials, often to profound and mesmerizing effect.
The adidas Consortium x Saint Alfred Temper Runner drops 27 October 2018 at limitEDitions Barcelona.

adidas Originals by Billionaire Boys Club
launching on 20th of October

adidas Originals and Pharrell Williams continue their collaborative partnership with the third instalment of the adidas Originals by Billionaire Boys Club collaboration. Moving from the iconic Stan Smith silhouette, the latest iteration of the BBC collection incorporates both of Pharrell Williams’ signature sneakers, Tennis Hu and Hu NMD, presented together for the First time.

For FW18 adidas Originals and Billionaire Boys Club draw on archive collegiate detailing for inspiration. Taking cues from the striped motifs found throughout heritage collegiate uniforms, both silhouettes are made up in striking bright yellow, dark blue, and scarlet red colorways.

Taking aesthetic cues from heritage collegiate uniforms, the boost™-cushioned NMD HU is built with lightweight Primeknit uppers and are embroidered with enigmatic ‘HEAR’ and ‘MIND’ slogans at each foot. Supported with a TPU lace cage, this sporting pair show off Pharrell Williams’ signature creative flair and are signed off with durable rubber outsoles at the base.

Inspired by the look and feel of old-school athletic uniforms, the Primeknit Tennis HU is trimmed with durable suede and leather overlays. Secured with a signature lacing mechanism, the lightweight sneaks are branded with a gold foil astronaut mascot the heel and underfoot, EVA cushioning, and rubber outsoles round out the collegiate look with both form and function in mind.

adidas  Consortium  x  Engineered  Garments
20 . 10 . 18
The third collaboration from the FW18 UltraBOOST Collective sees The cult, Americana-influenced brand applies its trademark, playfully irreverent approach to a range of iconic adidas designs and details.

Daiki Suzuki’s New-York based brand, Engineered Garments, has garnered a cult fanbase around the globe for its exuberant take on classic American clothing and refined Japanese attention to detail. Subtly mismatched elements have long been a part of the brand’s output and feature on their UltraBOOST in abundance.

The pioneering craftsmanship and design of the shoe are here rendered in the bright retro splash of adidas’ ‘Bluebird’ colorway, accompanied by a classic gum-colored outsole. Meanwhile, innovative fabrics such as the Primeknit uppers rub shoulders with more traditional textiles: twill cotton on the heel clip and cage; embroidered stripes that are (of course) mismatched in color.

The adidas Consortium Ultraboost x Engineered Garments will launch on Saturday the 20th of October at limitEDitions Barcelona.

Rounding off the collaboration is a vibrant take on the adidas bucket hat crafted from tech fabrics. The bucket hat has a rich and varied history, acting as a cultural touchstone across the worlds of sport, high-fashion, military clothing and popular music - the perfect accessory for a brand as eclectic as Engineered Garments.

adidas Consortium Future Runner 4D x Daniel Arsham
12 . 10 . 18

Daniel Arsham is a contemporary artist born in 1980 and raised in Miami, Florida. Drawing from architecture, design and everyday experience, his Future Relic series proffers a futuristic vision of Earth before and after major ecological changes, envisioning a world where the mass-market products of today are uncovered as the archaeological discoveries of tomorrow.

adidas Originals presents the third and final chapter of the collaborative project with Daniel Arsham – ’Hourglass’, a short film exploring the artist’s fascination with identity and experience through the lens of cultural ephemera. Once again taking the audience on a journey of discovery, intrigue and exploration, the third film is a continuation of the narrative turning its attention to the ‘Future’ to explore the relationship between art and chaos whilst revealing details of his collaboration with adidas Originals and the third sneaker in the series. Part-documentary, part-work of fiction, ‘Hourglass’ is a film told in three parts depicting the past, present, and future.

The final instalment of ‘Hourglass’ sees the story come full circle as we are formally introduced to Arsham from the future. The hourglass motif returns, this time featuring prominently as ‘future’ Arsham and ‘present’ Arsham come into contact for the first time. An exploration of causality and temporality, the third chapter follows a struggle between the two Arshams as they both question the necessity of struggle in the creation of art. Masterfully culminating the series, the final chapter is cathartic without providing answers - the question remains: ‘if you could save yourself from the trauma of a past experience, would you?’

The third sneaker in the collaborative series with adidas Originals, THE FUTURE, appears throughout the film’s final chapter. Made-up in a fully primeknit upper that reveals the word ‘FUTURE’ when exposed to UV light, the ‘FUTURE ARSHAM’ features adidas’ revolutionary new 4D tooling.

Staying true to the creative ethos of the collaboration, the sneaker comes packaged in a sealed box, accompanied by a pair of socks, gloves, and a bag. The sneaker and its unique presentation are physical realisations of both adidas Originals and Daniel Arsham’s relentless commitment to innovation and creativity.

The adidas Originals by Daniel Arsham ‘FUTURE 4D’ launches at limitEDitions Barcelona on Friday the 12th of October.

adidas Consortium EQT 91/18 x Packer Shoes
06 . 10 . 18

adidas Originals and East Coast sneaker boutique Packer Shoes team up on a special collaborative release this month, blending a classic Fall color palette with the signature colors of the EQT range to create a seasonal update to the EQT 91/18 silhouette.

Using the EQT 91/18 model’s blend of classic Equipment design and contemporary perspectives as its canvas, the release takes inspiration frm the lesser-known 1993 EQT Adventure line to inform the release. The shoe’s upper combines a number of materials including a wool-blend Primeknit vamp, hairy suede quarter and breathable mesh elements, structured by the 3-stripe marks TPU cage that defines many of the EQT series’ most iconic models.

The adidas Consortium EQT 91/18 x Packer Shoes launching Saturday 6th of October at limitEDitions Barcelona.

A molded heel cage adds support to the upper, finished with a premium leather lining and rope laces. This is then finished with a black Boost™ midsole, accented by essential overrun 3-stripe marks branding, and a durable rubber outsole.

Rendered in a tricolor Core Black/Sub Green/Blanch Cargo colorway, the result is a striking release that places the unwaveringly futuristic aesthetic of the EQT 91/18 silhouette in a softer, outdoors-appropriate model.
