NIKE AIR MAX 97 “WHITE SNAKESKIN”
LAUNCHING 29TH JUNE

The Nike Air Max 97‘s 20th-anniversary celebration has only given us a couple of noteworthy retro pairs, but the Silver Bullet and Metallic Gold offerings created enough noise to warrant a renaissance for the truly unique Air Max offering.

Today we get a look at a brand new lifestyle-themed option in the Nike Air Max 97 White Snakeskin slated to release later this Summer 2017 season. Gone are the vibrant precious metal thematics for a simple off-white Sail offering bolstered by synthetic python textures on the mudguard. The tonal pair does manage to keep the reflective 3M piping on the tongue and upper for a traditional nod at the silhouette’s affection for reflection.

This Nike Air Max 97 White Snakeskin could be a part of a larger pack from Nike Sportswear in a similar look.

NIKELAB X PIGALLE COLLECTION

French lifestyle label honors basketball’s golden era through a 90s-inspired collection.

Unforgettable rivalries, a new style of on-court expression and unprecedented greatness will forever define the 90s as the golden era of basketball. The sport has since spanned the globe, shaping cultures through its street-style origins and unique visual language. Pigalle founder Stéphane Ashpool channels this nostalgia for hardcourt heritage through his fashion label’s latest collaboration with NikeLab. The sportstyle collection honors the style of the time through elevated, modernized accents on classic silhouettes. Rich, two-color fabrics, soft tones, contrast taping details and retro renditions of timeless pieces are designed for everyday wearability and outfitting all who carry the culture of ball both on and off the court.

The NikeLab x Pigalle Collection will be launching on Saturday 24th of June at limitEDitions.

With a rich history of 90s hardcourt dominance, the Nike Air Shake Ndestrukt undergoes luxe reinvention inspired by nostalgia, sophistication and the eloquent delicateness of a French macaron. The upper displays a dominant Swoosh while delivering a semblance of softness through a two-tone mélange knit material. The asymmetric lacing pattern of the original design gives way to a laceless fastening gore band with a decorative, translucent monofilament for a robust appearance. Each colorway features a different leather above the midsole, while a rubber outsole boasts a strong graphic pattern and translucent finish. Embossed and rubber- molded Pigalle logos dot the silhouette. A satin webbing pull tab and anodized metallic button wrap up the elevated look.

ADIDAS ORIGINALS X PORTER NMD_C1
LAUNCHING 10TH JUNE

adidas and the Yoshida Company began life as small, family-run businesses. adidas made sportswear, Yoshida made bags and over the latter half of the 20th century both became giants in their respective fields.

Now experts in our industries, together we present a small collection of high quality footwear and bags. It is east meets west; a truly special exchange of ideas.

PORTER – the main brand under the Yoshida umbrella – has a worldwide reputation for the paramount quality of its products. The brand offers a great variety of items in innumerable fabrics and is best known for the iconic TANKER line. Launched in 1983, Tanker was inspired by the flight jackets ( MA-1 ) worn by US Air Force pilots and has risen to cult status in Japan but also around the globe. 34 years on, TANKER fabric is the material that binds the FTW in this release.

The NMD C_1 is among the most recent additions to the Originals line and for this project it is executed to blend exceptionally well with the TANKER bag series. In PORTER, adidas Originals has a collaborative partner that equally implements the highest standards in textile decisions, design aesthetics and construction. The result is a smart, elegant and highly contemporary piece of footwear that upholds both company’s quality standards.

To complement this exclusive release, PORTER updates two of their key styles, the Helmet bag as well as the popular waist bag, with a couple of neat nods to adidas Originals. The lining of both bags appears in the Originals blue while the 3-Stripes are subtly integrated as zip tape. Attractive but durable and filled with functional built-in storage, you can tell within moments why PORTER products have such a strong reputation.

It would be easy to focus on tradition, hammer on about heritage, but with Originals these factors are always a given. Today it is about how we use that heritage to construct outstanding and timeless products. In partnership with PORTER we have achieved a stunning result.

ADIDAS CONSORTIUM X AVENUE EQT 93/16 SUPPORT
LAUNCHING 3RD JUNE

When it comes to style, Antwerp punches above its weight. The relatively small Belgian city emerged internationally after the Antwerp Six – a group of fashion designers who had studied at the Royal Academy – burst onto the global scene during the mid-1980s.

The Royal Academy’s fashion course is now considered among the nest in the world and in walking distance to the iconic institution, Fashion Museum MOMU showcases the influence the city has had on global style. In this neighborhood is where Lina Fredriksson opened her footwear boutique Avenue in 2007.

For the Consortium series she worked with designer Michael Hernandez of The Bruin Co. and High St. Gallery to present two EQT Support 93/16. The duo took influences from Fredriksson’s native Scandinavia and appropriated the progressive design language from the Antwerp Six.

Rather than simply altering materials or colourways, Avenue has demonstrated a bold ethos in its treatment of the EQT Support. By toying with traditions and allowing different cultures to clash, Avenue has enlivened the model with a fresh approach. The retailer selected aniline leather- often used to upholster luxury furniture – for the model’s outer. Soft and sleek when left smooth, it is complemented with embroideries woven directly into the leather, heavily reminiscent of patterns often featured in Scandinavian fabric design.

Available in black or tan, Avenue’s experimentation has produced an upscale leisure EQT Support with a gently striking design, which removes the model entirely from its running roots.

DIADORA X TITOLO INTREPID ‘FIVE ALMONDS’
LAUNCHING 3RD JUNE

Diadora and Swiss Premium sneaker retailer Titolo have partnered up to bring you a fresh, juicy Diadora Intrepid.

Given the Italian roots of the store’s three founders, Titolo looked at Italian wedding almonds as a source of inspiration. These fancy, sugarcoated candies are rich in flavour and have a cultural meaning. They symbolize five wishes for the Bride and Groom: health, wealth, happiness, fertility and longevity. Almonds have a bittersweet taste, which represents life while the sugarcoating is added with the hope that the newlyweds’ lives will be more sweet than bitter.

The colours of the different almonds are reflected in the choice of the colour composition. The use of premier class materials, such as the super soft premium suede, together with the perfect interplay of form and color, result in both a unique and immediately striking sneaker.

LAUNCHING 1ST JUNE

BETRUE started in 2012 with a grassroots effort led by passionate Nike employees. To connect with the LGBTQ community in a personalized way, they made a few styles with NIKEiD in celebration of Pride month. United by a common mission to innovate for all athletes* and provide equal access to sport, these employees developed a plan to bring BETRUE to more people. The 2017 BETRUE Running footwear and apparel collection pairs the rainbow with other prominent symbols of pride, including the color pink and the triangle, with Nike innovations and the encouraging message, RUN FIERCE, printed onto the shoes’ sock-liners.

In the U.S., since 2012, Nike has provided approximately $2.5 million in financial and in-kind support to LGBTQ causes. 2017 BETRUE Collection

Using vacuum-printed sublimation to achieve maximum brightness and a smooth, HD gradient, Nike designers achieved the first-ever eight-color, rainbow Swoosh design on the lateral side of the black and white Flyknit Racer. The rainbow gradient references the original eight-color Pride flag. The medial-side Swoosh design is pink, referencing the colour’s widespread use in the LGBTQ community.
